Mini Face Lift Surgery (Microlift)
The Microlift is a modified Mini Facelift. It is not a not a substitute for a full facelift, but provides an improvement in the cheeks and jawline for patients who would like a more subtle, local anaesthetic procedure. The effects can last up to four years but this varies depending on a number of factors such as skin type, sun damage, and previous surgery.
About
The procedure generally takes around an hour and is performed under local anaesthetic. You will be able to go home the same day. Bending and stooping should be avoided for one to two days to reduce bruising and swelling. A chin strap should be worn day and night for the first week after surgery and then as much as possible for a further two to three weeks. The non-dissolvable stitches will be removed after about a week. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for a month after surgery.

What happens at my first consultation?

What should I look for when choosing a surgeon?
You should ensure that the surgeon has all the relevant qualifications and accreditation.It is also important to establish just how many procedures the surgeon has carried out. Our surgeon is UK accredited and is a fully-qualified GMC registered Consultant Plastic, Cosmetic Surgeon, he is a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) in addition to being a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). Our surgeon is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the Association of Breast Surgery (ABS) and the British Association of Surgical Oncology (BASO). Our surgeon has also been awarded prestigious fellowships including Royal College of Surgeons of England FRCS (Eng), Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh (FRCSEd) and a specialist fellowship in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. Who is the most suitable for microlift surgery?
Patients who would benefit from a microlift are those who are looking for a way of bridging the gap between the growing number of discerning patients who do not feel ready or indeed do not wish to undergo a major facelift with its associated longer term recovery and higher associated risk factors.
What does the procedure involve?
A microlift procedure is performed as a daycase with local anaesthetic operation occasionally with the use of a small amount of intravenous sedation enabling patients to go home within a few hours of the procedure without the lingering effects of a general anaesthetic. The technique involves an incision made at the sideburns hairline edge that then passes down in the crease in front of the ear and well hidden by most hair styles. There will be sutures that will be removed after 7 days.
